LOUDONVILLE - Caitlin Hammaren played the violin and sang in a choir. She ranked in the top 10 of her high school class. She served as a resident adviser in college. And she joined a sorority.

As part of an online memorial that generated more than 2,000 visits, friends described her as "bright, sweet and funny." One called her "a beautiful person." Another wrote, "Words can't describe how much she will be missed by me, Virginia Tech and the world."

On Friday afternoon before a women's lacrosse game, Hammaren, one of 33 people killed in Monday's shooting at Virginia Tech, was remembered by Siena, too.
