Vic: Fires cause smoke haze across Melbourne
Bushfires in the Victoria's north have caused a haze of smoke across Melbourne, causingangst among some residents.
Country Fire Authority spokesman IAN MAJOR says strong northerly winds have blown thesmoke across the city from fires that have burnt thousands of hectares at Corryong andin the Victorian Alps.
Mr MAJOR says the CFA has received many calls from worried Melbourne residents concernedthat a fire may be nearby.
